Three birthday celebrants for you today:

Helen Humes was born in Louisville, Kentucky, on June 23, 1913. A jazz and
blues singer, Humes toured and recorded with Count Basie in the 1930s and
1940s, and evolved into a “saucy” interpreter of classic American songs.
