Jump Blues Era of the 1940s which blended into the early Rock & Roll Era
of the 1950s, and follow on how those styles and artists have evolved over
the years. We also bring you jazz from the era along with the occasional page
from the Great American Songbook.

Born in Omaha, Nebraska on August 24, 1915, Wynonie Harris was a blues shouter
best remembered as a singer of upbeat songs with humorous, often ribald lyrics.
He had fifteen Top 10 R&B hits between 1946 and 1952 and is considered
one of the founding fathers of rock and roll.
